To remove the door panel, I started at the top of the door panel at the side view mirror area. With a small screwdriver I removed the fastener cover. Using a Phillips screwdriver, I removed the screw. Then I removed the screw from behind the door lever. I located a Phillips screw at the bottom of the inside door pull handle and removed the screw. Then I pried the plastic door panel from the metal door shell. 3d super full-crack-.
I found this to be difficult and some of the clips broke. There is a generic replacement clip, which I will show later in this article. I lifted up and pulled the plastic panel from the door. That's when I found out that a wire harness was mounted to the plastic door panel. First I disconnected the wire connection to the side view mirror. I used a small screwdriver and pried up the clip on the connector. Then I pulled the wire connector apart.
If I was removing the side view mirror, I would remove the foam sound cover and unscrew the three nuts (red arrows) attaching the mirror to the metal door frame. Support the mirror so it doesn't fall and cause damage to the door. With a screwdriver or hook tool, I moved the door latch lever clip. I just swung the clip around the rod and the rod was released. Then I lifted the rod from the clip.
I applied the same procedure to the second rod. Using my thumb, I pressed the release tab on the wire connector. Then I pulled the connector from the switch. At this point the plastic door panel was completely separated from the metal door shell. View of back side of plastic door panel. View of metal door shell with dust cover and sound deadener attached.
On the left are the old style clips and retainers. These often break when trying to remove a door panel.
The clip on the right is a one-piece generic clip can be purchased at most auto parts store. Removing The Rear Door Panel: View of rear door. I removed the Phillips screw from the bottom of the inside door pull handle. Next I removed the Phillips screw from behind the inside latch handle. With a rigid putty knife or other pry tool I pried the plastic door panel from the metal door shell.

I then swung the plastic clip from around the latch lever rod. Then I lifted the rod out of the retainer hole. I applied the same procedure to the other rod. Then I disconnected the wire connector between the plastic door panel and metal door shell.

That makes sense, if I can just figure out the D#### connector release. Second problem, just had the Jeep fail with a Cam Position Sensor fault. Replaced the unit and no change. I read somewhere that someone else had a similar problem and it ended up being related to a wire in the same DOOR harness. Ever come across anything like that? I have never heard of this and looking into the wiring manual, there is no connection between the cam wiring (or the other engine sensors) and any wire in the door boot.
The only thing i could think of would be the PCI data bus wire, if that one is grounded, the PCI bus will become dead and the engine will not start, no instruments and a lot of other strange behaviour. But no idea why it would set a cam sensor fault in that case.
