Acoustic Solutions Lcdw19hdf Manual
. 1 Answer SOURCE: Element FLX-1910 Problem: When the TV is turned on a picture appears for a few seconds and then the picture turns off. Audio is still heard. Solution: Not a simple fix!
This TV has 4 small florescent looking bulbs that act like a back light to light the image on the liquid crystal display (LCD). At least one of these bulbs is burned out or broken. The wires powering the broken bulb need to be cut and spiced together. Basically you’re bypassing the bulb and completing the circuit when cutting the wires going to the bulb on each end and splicing them together. WARNING: This worked for me but no guarantee for anyone who tries it. This is a very involved procedure and involves completely dismantling your television. To be honest I don’t recommend anyone trying to fix it unless you are very technically minded and have a couple of hours to waste carefully tearing apart your TV.
If anyone is willing to attempt this repair I am willing answer questions. Cause of problem: It is my guess that this problem occurs when the TV is left on for extended periods of time. Like leaving the TV on when you fall asleep at night. My TV was left on a lot. I noticed that the plastic was melted and discolored where the bulb had burned out. (This can only be seen internally and is no way visible from the exterior) Posted on Feb 14, 2009.
47 Answers SOURCE: Try using a different outlet, the outlet or the tv may have been damaged in the surge. In the case of the tv contact the manufacturer and see if it's still under warranty. There may also be a way to 'reset' the tv by holding the power button down, try looking in the manual or calling customer support. In the future use a surge protector, many of today's electronics are still sensitive to power surges, older tv's were more resilliant than today's in this regard. Posted on May 30, 2009.
