Immediately after I get in the animus the first time I get stuck on a white screen. I can bring up the pause menu, but nothing else. I've searched for a solution but found nothing. I keep seeing that its a frequent problem with illegal copies of the game, but I bought it during the sale just a couple days ago. I've checked the system requirements and know that that is not the problem, and I can play Black Flag just fine.

I've reinstalled once, and verified the integrity of the game cache. I'm not quite sure where to go from here.

On the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab. Change the compatibility field to be the desired OS mode. Click Apply, then OK. Launch the game by double left-clicking the executable file.
